Sometimes when you’re making progress, good progress, people seem to want to tell you that you’ll never get there, you’ll never succeed, you’re not good enough, or don’t know enough. Any number of “You’re not ______” seems to come up and they feel the need to tell you for whatever reason.
The main problem with this type of input is that after awhile, you may start to believe they’re right. If you’re familiar with many of the things talked about here before, you know that this can actually cause you to not succeed because you may be unconsciously reflecting this negative reality back to you.
If you can, make it so you can’t hear the “No“s, the negatives. Filter who you listen to. If you know it’s possible, it is. It doesn’t matter what anyone else may tell you. Some may find a solution to this by simply keeping their desires to themselves and working on it privately. There are many ways to effectively filter the outside opinions of other people. You really need to get people around you who believe you can achieve what you want, no matter what it is or how crazy it is to them.
In this information and digital age this can probably be done by just blocking those negative influences. For people who can’t avoid, stop listening, or just don’t tell them. You’ll find the solution you need to get yourself back on track when you see that some people are just going to hold you back. Real victories tend to happen in private anyway, and when you do get there the last people you’re going to remember who helped you get there were the naysayers.
Filter them out. Don’t listen. You can do this without them and you always could.
